COLLABORATION WITH COLUMBIA ASIA HOSPITAL

Kulsocs and Columbia Asia Hospital managed to create awareness for parents and their kids to have a healthier lifestyle and togetherness in conjunction with World Children’s Day.

In conjunction with World Children’s Day on Nov 30, Columbia Asia Hospitals in Klang Valley have collaborated to organize a charity fun run at Anjung Floria in Putrajaya on Saturday, November 24, 2019. The fund-raising event, Run for the Kids 2019, encourages parents to run in honour of their children, celebrating every child’s rights to basic needs as deemed by United Nations, including rights to responsible parenting and a safe family environment.

“We see this fun run as the perfect platform to get parents and children to interact and for us to connect with our patients, friends, clients and community members,” says Columbia Asia Regional General Manager, Puan Engku Marina Engku Hatim. “On top of that, it is also meant to raise funds for organizations whose cause is children’s welfare and wellbeing.”

Two NGOs have been named as beneficiaries, namely Dignity for Children and Make-A-Wish Foundation. The former provides holistic care and education for underprivileged children in Kuala Lumpur while the latter grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. Each of these organizations will receive RM10k to enhance their causes.

Run for the Kids 2019 will feature two run categories: 1km Kids Dash for children below seven and 5km Fun Run for all in the family. In anticipation of 2500 runners, fun activities will be lined up at every checkpoint along the route. The children will find familiar characters strolling about -- Sponge Bob, Angry Bird, Minion, Dora the Explorer, Pikachu, Barney, Bumblebee, Superman and Optimus Prime too! Stage backdrops will be splash-painted with bold colours, revealing parents’ personal notes for their children. There will also be a magic show performance, bubbles, balloon giveaways, a drum parade and more!

To flag off the runners on event day will be Columbia Asia Southeast East Asia CEO, Mr Kelvin Tan along with Columbia Asia Regional General Managers Puan Engku Marina Engku Hatim, Mr Tom Lim and Ms Lee Hui Chuen.

Accepting mock cheques on behalf of their organisations are Dignity for Children Foundation Marcomm Head, Mr. Liew Tong Ngan and Make-A-Wish Foundation Malaysia CEO, Ms Irene Tan.
